Annual ring & Density of Wood

Annual rings or Growth rings with wood density

     Annual rings of wood occur from unequal of wood growing in every season in each year. In the rainning season, tree is growing quickly and the color of wood is light showing the density of wood is low. This light color wood calls early wood or spring wood.

     On the other hand, the wood in the dry season as winter have the dark color and high density. This dark color wood call late wood or summer wood. And one year of wood is equaled one ring of light color and one ring of dark color of wood.

In addition, all tree grows slowly and have high density in the cold weather area such as pine wood in Scandinavian zone. On the other hand, pine wood in the other areas has the wide annual ring and low density such as pine wood in Australia and New Zealand. However, the density of wood is not occured by weather of wood growing. It requires other thing such as species of wood.
