1) Dimensional Stability – Australian Oak is quarter sawn as shown by the diagonal growth rings when looking at the timber section end on. This is the sawn from offering the greatest drying stability, achieved through minimization of the tendency for greater tangential shrinkage. Quarter sawn timber gives the timber craftsperson a stable, straight product and minimizes wastes.

Unit Shrinkage (Kiln Dried): Radial: 0.23% & Tangential: 0.36% of board dimension per 1% moisture content change of board.
